MICHIGAN FIRST NATIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL
A CELEBRATION OF NATIVE CULTURE & ARTS
Vibes With The Tribes is the first Native American music festival in the state of Michigan. With the structure of a traditional pow wow and additional festival atmosphere, live musical performances by indigenous performers from all over the country. Our goal is to bring together the surrounding Native communities as well as the Anishinaabe population right here in the city limits. From hip hop, rock, traditional drum and dance along with indigenous foods, art gallery and teachings, this event highlights the versatility of talent that derives from the Native American spirit, soul and creative energies.
GOALS
To provide an outlet for young Native American
performers, cultural practitioners and artists
To create a open space to build community amongst
the Native population of Michigan and across the region
To bridge traditional forms of culture and
ceremony with current forms of music art and culture
To create economic opportunities for Native entrepreneurs,
artisans and vendors that are often underrepresented and overlooked
A space of solidarity for non Native American and Native peoples
to share, build and learn from the Native American reality and culture.
