We Are Culture Creators (WACC) a premier cultural and performance ensemble in the city of Detroit. With proven activations that have attracted thousands of audience members, we are curating the next wave of authentic Detroit performance, music, art and culture. 

 

We achieve this in a space that reflects our community and our culture built on a foundation of family, inclusion, safety, access and love. Though our program is city wide we also have a brick and mortar culture house in Southwest Detroit providing free rehearsal space, performance opportunities,studio time, video equipment available and open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Our co-creator for this project is Black and Brown Theatre a 501c3 non-profit theatre company that seeks to create opportunities for theatre artists of color in the professional Michigan theatre scene.

 

Their goal is that within the next 5-10 years, they will no longer be needed because all of the other professional theatres in Michigan will be hiring theatre artists of color in an equitable manner.

 

In order to fulfill their mission, they produce full-length plays, workshops and readings to give artists of color a platform to be seen and heard. They also connect our artists with professional theatre companies through networking events and performances to build a bridge between the professional theatre scene in Michigan and the artists who reflect the true diversity of our city.
